Dress shirts are great and everything but the normal man doesn't exactly spend all day of every day of his life in a dress shirt. Although that isn't the worst idea out there, there comes a time, in this case when the weather gets cooler for autumn and winter, when the male needs to find something warmer to wear so he doesn't freeze up. Sure, you may have your car turned on to warm up before you head out and yeah sure your house may be real warm, but you still need to step outside and there is no telling how cold your work place may end up being, more so if you need to work outside for your job. This is where sweaters come in. If you love your dress shirts you can always wear one under a sweater vest, but this article isn't about those.
Wool sweaters, which happen to be the most common of all sweater fabrics, is the favorite to many as its looks are great and has great function to it. Back in the day wool was normally the most used fabric that was knitted. It has proven its ability to retain heat. The main problem with wool sweaters is that wool, if man handled or exposed to heat, can get ruined, more so when it is wet. It loses about 30% of its strength when it gets soaked. So, maybe sometimes just sticking with a dress shirt will be for the best if a wool sweater doesn't sound like your thing.

If you find yourself lacking great custom dress shirts and having a lot of extra money laying around, why not try the cashmere sweater? The cashmere sweater is like the rich mans version of a sweater. Having yourself a pure cashmere sweater can actually end up costing you hundreds of dollars if you have that kind of money to spend on a sweater. The reason for the very high price of the cashmere sweater is due to the rarity of the long downy goat hair from the Kashmir goats, which is also where the sweater gets its name from. The fabric is super light and very soft and many believe to be a wonderfully great investment that you can make for your wardrobe. Of course, when paying that much for a sweater you will want to make sure that the sweater fits you perfectly, don't want a too tight sweater that cost that much and end up just giving it to someone of a smaller build, make sure you also have the right occasions to even wear it, that way you at least use the thing and make sure that it stays a simple dark color. Make sure you don't buy a cheap counterfeit sweater, as it will be nothing like the real one. If you can take great care of the sweater it should last you more than 200 wears over the course of about 10 years, give or take. That is of course, if you are really that low on custom dress shirts that you need to buy one of these and wear them that often.

It's not like you will live in a dress shirt or dress suit, although that wouldn't be the worst idea, but that is besides the point. White dress shirts are probably the best or most neutral then that you can wear at a dinner with the dinner jacket, however faded colors work too, like a light blue or pink. The cuffs are usually single to double barrel cuffs, as french cuffs may get in your food. The dinner jacket black tie style is not a suit coat or anything like that. It is simply just a single-breasted jacket. It is a very common style and is accepted in many different occasions. There should never be slits going up the back of the jacket, or pleats. Remember that the black tie is defined by its great understated elegance, for this reason it would be advised that you stay away from 'flair' but it will still be accepted, given that that you don't go over the top. More often then not, this jacket should be black, to match the white dress shirt, but navy blue is accepted just as a light to pale blue dress shirt is as well. Just consider what is best appropriate for the dinner occasion before getting on any color. Stay away from the white jackets, they are accepted but you need to follow a whole new set of rules for them, best to stick with the BLACK tie. So let's keep i black for the names sake.

Like all other skills that are out there, fashion too has its mastery challenges. Think athletes and their triathlons, in this case it is how to master the black tie. And the black tie isn't exactly what you may think it is. We aren't talking about a literal black tie, but instead a suit style. Sure, many men may find it a little uncomfortable and things, maybe see it as a rite of passage on some occasions or it is just needed for weddings or even proms, but it is a style meant for special occasions. That is what makes the black tie so special, it has a specific purpose to it as opposed to just work dress shirts. The black tie is a dress code, so you have certain guidelines you need to follow regarding it. As long as you stick to those guidelines you will be good to go. Don't get caught up from sellers that try selling you otherwise, stick to the guidelines. Stick with the basic, classical and traditional look. You always need to wear a white dress shirt under it. The cuffs are usually single or double-barrel cuffs with a classical collar. You can go with french cuffs, however.

The people that make neckties do their best when it comes to making their passion, which is making ties. They go to great lengths to get you the perfect tie, and the finishing touch to any tie is the dimple on the knot. It is purposely there, don't worry, and it adds a great amount of texture to the necktie, as well as giving it a perfect drape to it. The dimple should be located at the top of the knot. When you are tying yourself a knot, you should try and make sure the necktie dimple is there. You get that dimple towards the ending steps of donning your tie. Before you do the final tightening you need to give the tie a good fold where you want the crease, or dimple, to be. Give it a real good fold in the center of the tie and make sure it goes all the way through to the other side of the knot. After you do that, simply finish tightening the tie. It does take some practice, so don't get frustrated if you can't master it the first few times. Give it the time and patience needed to master the necktie dimple and you will have officially gotten the most out of your tie. The necktie dimple goes great with any dress shirt. Whether it is for a wedding or even an interview, it can do wonders. Think about just how great you will look at work with one.

Windsor knot is what the half-Windsor know is named after, sort of. The half-Windsor will be pretty much half of the Windsor knot. This tie is one of the most common of all ties search on the internet today and by all means any normal daily tie wearer should know this tie knot. This tie does need the most practice in doing, though, as it can be pretty difficult. Also, for this reason they should really only be worn on special occasions, unless that is, if you are a fan of wide collars and love wearing them all the time, sort of like dress shirts. Just like the half-Windsor, the Windsor, or also called the double-Windsor, has a triangular shape to it. It is by far the most perfect tie knot you can pick when you have a spread collar. It also goes great with stripes and other patterns that are more modern. If you got a large neck, this will compliment it well. If you plan on going with this tie knot, you should really consider getting yourself a tie that has extra length to it, as he Windsor tie knot requires the use of more tie then other knots. It should end up, from tip to tip, to be around 63 to 64 inches long.

We all should know by now that ties are important, knowing what tie knots to use with your collar types is important. To do otherwise would not be complimenting your tie nor your dress shirt. In this case, you should know what types of tie knots exist so that way you can actually do them, or at least look them up. This tie knot is called the Half-Windsor. This is half the size of the normal Windsor tie knot, which is also called the double Windsor knot at times, as it is twice the size of the Half-Windsor knot. This knot has a more triangular shape as compared to the four in hand tie knot. If you got a medium-width spread collar and happen to have a thicker tie design, this would be the perfect tie knot. The knot uses less of the tie's length and thus makes it a good tie for the men that are big and tall and want a tie that is regular length to them. Out of the main tie knots, this one is the most versatile compared to the others. It would be smart if you learned this one.

Knowing what tie knots to use with your collar types is important. To do otherwise would not be complimenting your tie nor your dress shirt. In this case, you should know what types of tie knots exist so that way you can actually do them, or at least look them up. Here we got what is called the four horse in hand knot. This tie knot originated back in the 19th century in England. It is believed that British horsemen invented the type of tie knot as they were trying to tie their scarves around their neck with one hand and holding the reigns for the four horses in their other hand. That is where it got its name. Thankfully for you this is one of the more easiest tie knots that you can learn. If done right, the tie knot will be smaller with a longer shape to it, making it the perfect match for any narrow spread collars plus your button down collar dress shirts. If you are wearing a British striped tie, this classical look will be perfect for that. This includes the Regimental ties too.

It is a key factor in making a good impression on others, being as you will be judged the first time someone sees you. This applies to pretty much any and every detail you can come across on you and your outfit. From the shoes to the pants and your dress shirt and tie, you need to look sharp. So, you know the different collar styles out there, French, rounded, contrast and all the others, plus you know about the different ways to tie the knot in your tie. There are four different tie factors to keep in mind when deciding which knot to use with your tie. Those happen to be what your shirt collar type happens to be, what your body type happens to be, what the tie construction is and lastly the design of your necktie. You should try to keep things with a range of tie knot gaps. For example, if you have a wide spread collar, the angles at which the collar points extend is about 90 degrees. This means you should have a somewhat larger tie knot that looks more triangular. Meanwhile, the straight point collar, which leaves a small gap, would require a smaller tie knot. Use common sense when shaping the tie knot.
